Capital City Rescue Mission Capital City Rescue Mission History Founded in 1949 ... Still Growing In 1982, the new Executive Director, Perry Jones, developed a discipleship/rehabilitation program. Soon the Mission began to serve larger numbers of needy people. The average age of Mission clients became much younger than those of earlier decades. Other new programs were added, including a Learning Center, medical program, counseling and referrals. Many partners joined with the Mission in serving the needy. Because of the numerous services and spiritual hope the Mission offers, it has grown to be the largest shelter in the city.
