At Trinity Worship as part of our Growth Group series we offer FPU, Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. My wife and I are leading the class and the response has been so overwhelming in our church and outside our congregation as well, so much so that we have solicited another couple to co-lead the class with us. People are hungry for the financial wisdom that Dave offers on a myriad of topics, which he delivers, all interwoven with his Christian worldview...
Christian Financial Adviser and Author Larry Burkett used to say, our check registers, and more specifically our spending habits, tell and autobiography of sorts. Therefore it shouldn't surprise us that God has much to say about finances. Jesus said in Luke 12:34, "where you treasure is, so will your heart be also." Never has this been more apparent than when there is an economic downturn. We all look at our finances differently. What was a necessity is redefined based on affordability. Suddenly you think, "Do I really NEED 165 channels of cable?"It is with this in mind that we will dedicate the four Sundays in the month of February to finances. (Notice the three "F's?" There's my Moody training coming out again.) These messages are going to go way beyond the normal "giving" sermons and look at God's heart and mind on spending, saving, and giving. The theme of these for messages are going to be "Myth Busters about Money." I encourage you to join us for these timely messages from God's Word!
